All at the ready! CookCamp Easter is about to start....10kg of sugar, 180 eggs, 20kg of flour....endless amounts of plates, cups, cutlery and recipe cards....
We have some fun treats for the kids to look forward to this week, Easter is the theme, cute choccie eggs, chicks and pretty flowers, enough to make any cake delicious!

Family supper

OK, too many peppers in the fridge, they had kept the shelves company for far too long, it was time they came out and got .....EATEN! Sadly the only way peppers are ever in eaten in my house is raw, with a delicious bowl of humous next to them! Forget the ratatouille, or rice-stuffed pepper...they're just a thumbs down!
OK, so my challenge was to come up with a carniverous supper for a hungry family, to include the peppers!! Bring on the mince, potatoes and peppers - shepherds pie always goes down a treat here, this time think along the lines of cottage pie.

WOW!What a week - 60 enthusiastic kids enjoyedfrench toast, homemade pizza, swiss roll, chicken curry, coconut rice, butter bean and veg soup, pear and chocolate pudding and chocolate chip cookies!Q. How many eggs did we get through this week! A. 240!Our identification game saw our chefs smelling, tasting and inspecting: tamarillo (also known as tree tomato - soft fruit, used for a dessert or made into chutney), prickly pear (from the cactus plant), fresh thyme, tarragon, kumqwats, karela (a fruit with properties benefical to diabetes, aka bitter melon, from the gourd family) to name but a few!
